Tuesday 17th June 2025   Chalong Bay Destillery

Fred Schwendener, who organized the event, welcomed the Swiss Friends to the Chalong Bay Distillery. The tour began at 5 p.m. with a presentation of the distillery and its products. The mixing of various drinks with rum etc. was demonstrated by knowledgeable sommeliers and these could also be tasted. This was followed by a tour of the distillation plant and an explanation of the history and production of the Chalong Bay Distillery. At 7 p.m. the tacos buffet was opened, where you could eat delicious food. A cozy evening with friends accompanied by a live music group followed. Many thanks to the distillery crew.

 

 
 
 
 

Tuesday 22nd April 2025  -  Lawn Bowling in Kamala
 

Jürg Brand, who organized the event, welcomed the Swiss Friends to Kamala.
Lawn bowling was not yet known to many Swiss Friends, but the interest was great and it was both interesting and fun to try out this sport. After a somewhat chaotic start, the rules gradually became more familiar and ambition grew. Two teams of three played against each other on the five starting lanes. After eight rounds, the winners were determined and the restaurant welcomed us with a delicious buffet. Many thanks to the organization and the owners for the good food and moderate prices!

 

     

            

 
   

            

Wednesday 19th February 2025  -  Blue Beach Cafe & Restaurant, Patong Beach
 

The first meeting of ‘Swiss Friends Phuket’ at the Blue Beach Restaurant Patong was a complete success. Marc Alder, member of the organising committee, welcomed 43 members and briefly explained how the new association came into being.
The unpleasant events on the board of the Swiss Society had prompted many to turn their backs on this association and found a new community. Within just two months, 74 members had already signed up. The society does without an annual membership fee, statutes and even a president, which made some of those present laugh. However, many Swiss friends seem to like these conditions.
Marc Alder drew attention to the next ‘Lawn Bowling’ event on 22 April 2025 in Kamala. Details and invitations for this event will follow shortly.
The Blue Beach Restaurant proved to be very professional in terms of organisation and quality. The live music was also excellent and members chatted late into the night.
The meeting of the ‘Swiss Friends Phuket’ was not only a proof of the successful foundation of the new community, but also a wonderful evening full of conviviality and joy.
